EasyAzon Pro is now simply EasyAzon
For years this page sold the Pro half of EasyAzon. The free plugin, on this site from June 2014, made text links to Amazon from the post editor; Pro, the same month, was the paid layer on top: image links, product information blocks, call-to-action buttons, link cloaking, link localization, add-to-cart links and product pop-ups.
Version 5.0 in 2021 merged the two. Every former Pro feature became part of the one plugin, and there has been no separate Pro since. The file on this page is EasyAzon 5.1.2, the build we maintain. If an old EasyAzon Pro is still active on your site, deactivate it; 5.1.2 warns when it finds one.
Link localization keeps a tracking ID per Amazon store and sends a visitor from Germany to amazon.de with your German tag, using Cloudflare’s country header if your site is behind Cloudflare, or a GeoIP2 database you place at wp-content/uploads/easyazon/geoip.mmdb; with neither, links use your default store, because we removed the stale bundled database in 5.1.2. Link cloaking turns a product link into /product/ASIN/US/tag/ on your own domain. That redirect is where the cross-site scripting hole was that got the plugin closed on wordpress.org in June 2024, and 5.1.2 fixes it.
Search, images, prices and info blocks go through the Amazon Product Advertising API 5.0, so you need your own Access Key, Secret Key and tracking IDs from an Associates account with API access. Plain text links work without them.
